{Music} "Needles & Pins" by The Ramones.

This is one of my favorite songs.
It's kinda sad if you listen to the lyrics, but it's just so good.

Wanna sing along? Here ya go.

"Needles And Pins"
(I edited this from the ones online, because I hear different words than what they have posted)

I saw her today, I saw her face
It was the face I love, and I knew
I had to run away, yeah
And get down on my knees and pray-ay, that they go away

And still it begins-sa, needles and pins-sa
Because of all my pride, the tears I gotta hide

Birchbox May 2013 Sneak Peeks.

They May Birchbox theme is "Beauty Diaries." There's a big announcement--you can now choose to receive less fragrance samples! Or more of them! Your choice :) If you update your profile, you can choose not to receive more than 6 fragrances a year. Your beauty profile has some new questions in it, if you'd like to update it.

Some items mentioned in the video:

  • COOLA Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face
  • Joie Folle de Joie eau de parfum
  • Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
  • Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner
  • amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask
  • Marvis Toothpaste
  • Paul & Joe Beauté Moisturizing Foundation Primer

I've tried the amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask and I love, love it! Just my two cents. It makes my hair SO soft and it smells ah-mazing. I also like the Marvis Toothpaste; it gets the job done and the packaging is fun.

Guess What? Julep DD Creme will Debut in June!

I just ordered the Julep Maven box I missed this month. I'm madly in love with the theme (Roaring 20s~Jazz-inspired lip color trio), so I ordered the May BoHo Glam box :) I'll post a review when it comes, because this may be my most favorite Julep box ever.

More Makeup from Julep!

Ok. So you know how Julep has been adding more makeup and beauty products and they even introduced a "beauty box" choice each month?

Well, check it out~ they've created a DD Creme and a DD Concealer (foundation/concealer) that will be available June 2013. I have a feeling we will be seeing this in our next Maven box! (so, sign up now!)

Ipsy May 2013 Glam Bag Sneak Peeks

The May 2013 Ipsy Bag Should Include:

  1. (everyone) ♥ Yaby Concealer refill (matched to your beauty profile)
  2. (everyone) ♥ Zoya nail color from the Spring '13 Lovely collection (full size)
  3. (everyone gets either/or) ♥ Juice Beauty (reflecting gloss) or ♥ Mirabella Colour Sheer Lipstick
  4. Two of the following items will be added to your bag (randomly)
    • ("or" item) ♥ Pacifica rollerball perfumes in either Island Vanilla or Tahitian Gardenia.
    • ("or" item) ♥ Pacifica Coconut Crushed Pearl Bronzing Body Butter
    • ("or" item) ♥ Pacifica Coconut Crushed Pearl Luminizing Body Butter
    • ("or" item) ♥ St. Tropez wash off instant glow. It's a lotion, not a tanner.
    • ("or" item) ♥ NuMe Finishing Serum
    • ("or" item) ♥ Anastasia Clear Brow Gel
    • ("or" item) ♥ Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment
    • ...and a ton of other choices are rolling in. There's so many surprises this month. {I'm on needles and pins-sah. Hey, let's listen to some music :D}
I could not be any more excited for this bag! The bag design is so pretty and it includes tons of useful products by many amazing brands. This is the first time that Ipsy has created a bag with so many "or" products. I'm a little excited about that, though; especially, if we could get the rest of the "or" products in future bags. Ipsy also offers really great discount codes with the bags, so that's another perk.

Many people are receiving a bonus item this month--Urban Decay eye shadow--but, it's really unclear if they're choosing people at random or if it's set rules. Ipsy stated that the bonus items are going to "active members" and those with at least two referrals. Of course, everyone would love to get the extra item, but if you aren't getting it (I'm not, either), don't let that spoil your bag, because this is wayyyy more than $10 worth of products and I'm sure you're about to discover some new faves :) Also, if you referred two people after May 1, then you'll get your bonus item in the June bag etc. Loving this fun, new promo from Ipsy :)

If someone offers you a referral link (and you're new), be sure to use it out of ♥kindness. You'll be receiving a referral link as well; the referral program just started this month.

Wishing everyone a fun/relaxing weekend!

Zoya nail polish in the May Glam Bag? That's right! I'm happy Ipsy gave that hint first.
There's a Spring Fling theme going on for the May Glam Bag.
Ready to check out some hints? Ok, here goes...

Random~Photos, Music, a Little Shopping.

I went to Target this weekend to get my Mom a birthday gift and to browse their clearance (gotta love it) for some clothes and "whatevers."

Target has some really, really nice Liz Lange maternity tank tops on clearance for all you pregnant girls out there and for me! These tops aren't really bigger in the middle, they're just incredibly soft and stretchy--they're amazingly comfortable--and longer than a typical tank top, so I bought one for me :) #sorryimnotsorry.

Target had some great sales this weekend

My camera battery kept dying, so I took as many photos as I could.

  1. iHome headphones for just $7.48!! These aren't just comfortable, they're beautiful! I love the design and it's a great break from the little earbud things.
  2. Lexar high-speed USB backup drive. This is a 32g for under 12 dollars! I'm so excited! It's high-speed which is even better. I'll use this to back up videos and photos from my phone :)
  3. A really pretty, Springy washcloth set for $3.98. These are so colorful and happy. Love 'em!
  4. i3D Interactive Cards that do numbers 1-20. I've been wanting to get these for Noah, but I was waiting until they were marked down, because $30 is too much for them, I think. I know he's gonna love these :)

{more} music: A Thousand Years.

Yeah, I've got it bad. This song is perfect. I've heard it before and didn't really listen to it, but after watching this movie, this song is just magical. How sweet are the lyrics, right? For someone who never watches love movies, Twilight really got a hold on me. I'm always going "pshhh" when I watch romantic movies, because they're so sappy and I hate crying, but this is just different. It's something special.

Guess I need a Twilight t-shirt, now. ;)

This video is magnificent!
This video is mostly scenes from the first movie. Really no spoilers in it...
ya know, in case there's one other person out there that hasn't seen these movies ;D

If you actually haven't seen the movie, it will give you a good taste of what it's all about.
I love the scenes where they're lying in the grass or hanging out in the woods

A Thousand Years Lyrics

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid
I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Music. I'm in love with Twilight... finally.

I can't get this song out of my head
It's so sweet, but it makes me cry. Its just so beautiful.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

If you have NOT seen the movie, watch this one:

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

If you HAVE seen the movie, watch this one.
It has scenes from the entire saga.
Warning: Spoilers in this version.

Guess who just watched Twilight for the first time ever? This girl. Not only that, but I watched the whole thing (5 movies) in 3 days... now, I'm leaving the first disc playing over and over. Can we say addicted? Twilight will get you.

This is the best love story I've ever seen, heard, experienced. Some of it is so much like my own life; I could be Bella. It's like watching scenes of my teenage life and scenes from my dreams. Some of it is stuff I never could have imagined and the story is just irresistible. It would be so amazing to be loved like that "forever." I just love, love, love, love, love this movie--especially, the first disc.

I'm crazy in love with how awkward she is and how completely devoted he is to her. *tear* What makes the movie irresistible is that it's so realistic. I thought it would be more Hollywood or theatrical, but it's almost like a reality show in that it's completely believable/lovable.

The part where he's staring at her in the classroom just gives you chills, right? And what about when she jumps to knock him back through that window/ledge? Omg, what about when he shows up in the car when she's on the way home from the bookstore! ah haha! yeah!! You know you were cheering, too! My favorite scene was probably the van scene from the school parking lot~he didn't regret it  Best movie(s) ever. Ever.

I've been in blog detox by hibernating with Twilight in my spare time. Best computer break ever.

What about you? Have you ever been in love with Twilight?  :)

Currently~entertaining, holding, building, smiling, frowning

C'mon! Let's play!
Join in on another fun week of "Currently" posts
and tell everyone what you're up to, friends :)

I'm Currently...

(entertaining, holding, building, smiling, frowning)

  • entertaining...
    • myself with youtube videos about beauty hauls, monthly favorites and guitar song tutorials.
    • Noah with educational apps, workbooks and hands-on fun {like digging in the dirt}
    • the dogs with frisbees and letting them bark at the school bus {remember this post.}
  • holding...
    • on to the last few months of "baby time" before my little guy officially starts school.
    • hands with my sweet Noah as we walk around stores & run errands.
  • frowning...
    • because of the anxiety building over the severe storms headed this way. I'm terrified of tornadoes. I'm so lucky to have a friend {online, but local} who messages back/forth with me during storms and we watch radars together and stuff. I love her for this. She's as scared as I am and that's comforting.
  • building...
    • dreams of the future by putting things in motion {painting, planning, working out}.
    • my blog(s), flower beds and my confidence in making a living freelancing.
  • smiling...
    • all the time, because I have so much to be thankful for. I know this, because I've lost a lot, done without a lot and I've had to rebuild more than once. There are so many people out there that have much less than I have and they are happy. I'm happy, too. I'm happy for being blessed with Noah and for my silly dogs that make me laugh.
    • I'm smiling, because I see a lot of smiles shining on me. Thank you smiley faces.
    • because, it's Spring and the {nonstormy} weather is intoxicating! Every day feels like paradise--breezes, 70 degrees, and blue skies.

Inspiration: It's Never Too Late...

Just a little quote for the top of the week.
"It is never too late to be what you might have been."
I find this to be very uplifting and inspiring.
I absolutely believe this is true.

It's important to dream like a child. As we grow older, our hopes become more "realistic," so, we often put our dreams on a shelf. Age should bring us wisdom and life experience; age should not put an end to our goals and ambitions. What you do today, will also determine who you are tomorrow. It's never too late to learn something new or change something unpleasant. You have the power to make your daydreams into your reality. Start today.

Currently~Drinking, Buying, Driving, Missing, Obsessing.

I'm linking up for the ever-so-fun "Currently" posts.
These posts are a fun way to tell everyone what you're currently up to, this week :)
C'mon! Let's play!

Themes: Drinking, Buying, Driving, Missing, Obsessing

(what' I'm up to)

Drinking:// Water. Like a fish... except, I don't swim in that which I drink. Gross, fish :/

Missing:// {not going the sentimental route}. Those Taco Bell Margaritas they had the other year! Man, those things were SO good. I could buy a jug of it... and drink it...

Buying:// Buying mulch and peat moss to put outside, because the ground is this orange clay crap marvel that turns into slippery mud and then bakes into a coffin for your plants. For real, you have to mix something into the soil or it will just lock down on your plants. In the clay, you don't plant flowers, you bury them. #truth.

Driving:// Basically, never. Gasoline costs so much now-a-days {what's my age?}. I drive slow. Keep the bill low... $low--low. {I've always driven slow, though}

Obsessing:// Over this new Pepperidge Farm Wheat/White swirly bread and peanut butter! I don't even eat peanut butter! I, mean, I do, but not regularly. This is good stuff. The bread~ oh, my, Goodness! You gotta have some of this!

Noah's Currently:

Drinking: Tea and iced water.

DIY: Grilled Chicken Burrito Bowls, Tacos & Quesadillas.

Who doesn't love a good Mexican restaurant? The scent of grilled chicken, peppers and onions will pull anyone in for a nice meal. What if you could make all of this at home--for less money--and much quicker? No add-on costs, no getting the kids ready, no driving and waiting--sounds amazing, doesn't it? The only thing better than eating Mexican food, is enjoying Mexican food in your yoga casual pants at home. :)

I saw a recipe on Tyson's website for a Beef Fajita Sandwich with Fiery BBQ Sauce, and it reminds me of one of my favorite things to do at home: make a burrito/fajita bar with my {new} Chocolate-Chipotle BBQ Sauce! You can go shopping with me here.

Wanna create a DIY Burrito/Fajita Bar that will please anyone--from small to tall, a bar that has it all?
Well, all you have to do is... set up a few things:

  • Cilantro-Lime Rice (recipe below)
  • Honey Roasted Corn "Salsa" (freezer section)
  • Lettuce (torn or shredded)
  • Cheese & toppings of your choice
  • Black beans or pinto beans
  • Peppers & Onions (freezer section, or fresh)
  • Some tasty salsas (jarred & fresh. Recipe below)
  • Delicious Grilled Chicken (ready in 5 minutes!--see below)

The most important ingredient for this quick burrito bar: Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken {available in your grocer's freezer or refrigerated section}. It's so easy to prepare this meal in under 30 minutes and everyone loves it!

 Everyone Loves Creating Quesadillas

Children like to help do "grown-up things," such as cooking. Letting children help prepare their own meal encourages them to try new foods {fruits, veggies, herbs}. My little guy really enjoys putting together his own tacos and quesadillas. Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken makes it very easy for kids to help, because there's no raw meat to cook and the chicken is already in bite-size pieces.

It's a Healthy Choice for Lunch: Slow Roasted Turkey Bake.

What's for lunch today? Well, I'm thinking: "Juicy turkey medallions with roasted potatoes, butternut squash and green beans topped with savory gravy and crispy onions."

Not only is this delicious, it's low in calories. Wanna know how to make this entree in under 10 minutes? All you have to do is... go to the grocery store and pick up this Healthy Choice meal! It's the Slow Roasted Turkey Bake. yum!

I'm loving the new Top Chef inspired meals and the Baked Entrées options from Healthy Choice. The Baked Entrées come in a really cool container that is lined with a special foil to help the food brown in any microwave.

It's fun to have so many options, instead of eating the same thing often. There's so many different foods to suit your mood {and nutritional needs}.

Come. Sit. Have lunch with Noah and me.

My March 2013 Birchbox Review. Love it!

Got my March Birchbox late this month {to renew or not to renew? renew!} and I wanted to show you guys what was in it!

Have a look-see at the box-of-funness that showed up on Saturday!

So many goodies! Part of it was in a little MAKE bag, the other part was in a little gift pouch thing. I like to reuse those {the cardboard fold-out box thingy}.

I opened this and had a great time smelling all of this stuff lol. Its nice when you like the scent of something, isn't it? ;D

Raptor Centers Aren't Boring. FTSF

Finish the Sentence Friday

One time when I was bored out of my mind, I... found a raptor center that rehabilitates and releases birds!

Several years ago, I drove someone to a job interview that was a few hours from where we live. I was left to sit in the car for at least an hour during his interview... boring. I decided that I'd drive around and see what was nearby {hoping I didn't get lost--no smartphone, then}.

I drove past a school, then a sign that said "Raptor Center" and I knew I had to go there! I pulled into the parking lot--it's basically empty--and got out and started wandering around.

Oh, man... there was SO much more than what meets the eye from the parking lot! This place was cool! There was a store, tons of birds/animals, pathways and even an education/learning area.

I Bleed Music. "Somebody Put Something in My Drink" Ramones

If you're a regular reader, then you probably have noticed that I post a lot of music. I used to think that everyone loves music, but that's not true... I have people in my life who can drive for an hour without even turning the radio on--I would just die.

I'm always beebopping (ha) around to a tune {that's probably coming from my pocket} and I have necklaces hanging up in the bathroom and earbuds on hooks beside them. I listen to my iPod while I blow dry my hair--this is good for keeping that blow dryer sound out of your head ;) My mom gave me an iHome for Christmas and I keep it on the kitchen counter... I bleed music. I have it playing all the time and when it's quiet, that's because it's playing in my head {as, I've said before}. I wake up with a song in my head every morning {even songs I haven't heard in forever}... I just love music. I'm always finding new/old bands that I like and ones that I've forgotten about.

What's all of this leading up to?

I can't say anything without it putting a song in my head. I can't remember where I put anything, but I can remember the lyrics to so many songs.

Tonight, there was something in my drink. I'm not someone who scoops it out, I had to go get a new cup, but that, of course, put a song in my head...

Enjoy!

The Ramones~ Somebody Put Something in my Drink

How about you--love music? :)

What are some of your favorite songs?

A Little NoonDay Music: "Show Me Your Soul" RHCP

Here's a fun love song.
I even made an image to match ;D

I can relate to this~ can you? :)

This is one of those
awesome 90's songs.
It sounds like a love letter.

My Dog Uses Monistat

So, I decided to have my dog, Ollie, neutered at the vet's office, because... well, why not? It prevents problems (he's no baby's daddy) and it keeps him safe from a few health problems (win/win).

Well, I told him that it's no big deal, because lots of dogs are doing it and nothing would change in his life. When I took him in there, a lady commented on how beautiful he was and wanted to know where I got him from {remember, he's a ShihPooHuaHua~limited edition}. Everyone thought he was SO sweet and SO cute... until I came to pick him up after the dun-dun-dun... operation.

The front desk woman said, "We're gonna need you to go get Ollie out of the crate, because everyone's scared of him." {lol. Really? My sweet Ollie?} When I got back to his crate, he was wild-eyed and backed in the corner. Apparently, he figured out what had happened and it wasn't cool with him. Poor guy. I scooped my emasculated baby up and took him home.

Back Home

He's been enjoying life and having a grand time~ same ol' G.

Everything was fine until....

This Dog Didn't Have STDs. FTSF Linky.

{showing up late, but still playing along}

Finish the Sentence Friday

I did something really stupid once, I... took my friend to the vet when I was 19-20 (something like that, doesn't matter). Wait, no, I took my friend and her dog to the vet. She got this shiny new puppy and wanted to have it checked out and inspected for problems or whatever and since I was the only one of us with a license (and car), I happily lead the way to the puppy doctor.

Well, you must know this: the vet guy is the hotness. He was like newly out of school, single, and a doctor. I was single, in school and a floor covering salesgirl--we're on the same level, right? You must also know that I'm in college {not getting much sleep} and they're making us watch videos and read pamphlets on informative crap. You'll see what I mean... they drilled it in my head.

After giving this puppy the weigh-in and check-in, it ended up on the table for inspection. I've never been there for a dog's first visit before, so I was totally interested in what was going on, here. The vet lifted the dog's tail (eww) and proceeded to violate it's exit ramp and I was like, "eww. what are you doing, exactly?" and the vet said,

"I'm checking for herpes."
